Eparé insulated glw is made from durable Borosilicate gl. Borosilicate gl is a strong heat-resistant gl traditionally used to make scientific lab gl. Stronger than traditional "soda-lime" gl, borosilicate can be used for everything from drinkw to cookw. Borosilicate gl subsutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glw. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to small size of boron particles, the gl is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter gl. Borosilicate gl doesn't need to be as thick as traditional gl to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of gl that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe, but not recommended to be used with metal utensils.
